The Swiss Alps: The other side of a blue sky
When you think about hiking in the mountains or the alps you imagine a blue sky and sun. It is that famous postcard picture.
However the weather in the mountains is unpredictable due to the different micro climates in the valleys and the mountains. I think it is very exciting. Suddenly you are just a tiny little dot in this huge landscape. Things are happening above and around you. Clouds are moving in over the mountains and diving down into the valleys. Fog is covering the valleys below and when you are in the middle of fog you still can feel good because you wear good shoes and the right clothes.
I think nowadays you can weather bad weather because of the high-tech outdoor clothes you can buy.
I say “it’s not the weather that makes you miserable – it’s the wrong clothes.”
Having some not so sunny weather while you hike puts you in a very special mood. The landscape turns mysterious, and what you see is in a way so much more interesting.
I added a few more pictures from our 6-day hiking part in Switzerland.
Enjoy!
