Skiing in Switzerland
Grindelwald
To all who have never skied in the Alps – book a flight and GO. Off-season flights are similarly priced to the US-flights heading West. Ski-Passes are cheaper. $62/day and if you ski 3, 4 or even more days, it will be below $59/day. In that price you have the choices of trains, cable cars and chairlifts.
Cindy and I spent more than a week in Grindelwald. While we were there we watched live the world famous Lauberhorn Downhill ski race. We were among the 35,000 spectators cheering for the Swiss and Bode Miller. BTW the Swiss really like Bode Miller. Watch this short video:
While we were in Grindelwald, we skied on the Kleine Scheidegg, down to Wengen and spent a day on the Schilthorn. The Schilthorn really got famous when they filmed the James Bond Movie withOn Her Majesty’s Secret Service .
For Cindy and me winter vacation is probably the best. Snow, the fresh air, the sound of skiing in powder and in between a hot coffee with a freshly made Nussgipfel (Almond croissant but better). In the evening a fine glass of wine together with a local dish. Cozy and warm. Later a deep, deep relaxing sleep.

It was time to update it. Play around. You still can find a link to my “old” smugmug web page.
