People are crazy and times are strange

People waiting to listen to the new album ONE DAY EARLIER

….. this line is from the song  “Things Have Changed,” which Bob Dylan wrote for Curtis Hanson’s quirky “Wonder Boys” and won an Oscar in 2001 for  Best Song at the Academy Awards.

Today, September 11, 2012, Bob Dylan released his new album, “Tempest”.  This is exactly 50 years after his first album.  To promote this, you could buy his new CD one day earlier at four Dylan “Pop Up Shops”.  Dylan Fans in Los Angeles, London, Berlin and New York were the lucky ones to get their hands on “Tempest” earlier than everyone else.

I was one of those crazy people.   I arrived half an hour before the shop opened and there were already more than 100 women, girls, boys, men and two dogs in front of me. Businessmen and women, a teacher,  a nurse, a student, a fitness trainer, mother of 3, an engineer, restaurant owner, congresswoman and a lawyer – all around me. It was nice to talk and chat to all those “crazy people”.

Bob Dylan turned 71 last May but he still plays great music, and fills concert halls around the world. I enjoyed him and his superb band last week in Port Chester, NY.  The sold out crowd was between 14 and …. older.

Back home I was listening to the CD – ONE day earlier than the REST…………..
