In my last blog I wrote about Winter Destination New York City. This time we go to a different Winter Destination. To the Swiss Alps. The region around Grindelwald has breathtaking places and views. Eiger, Moench and Jungfrau are present all around you. The weather and snow conditions were the best and I couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate my special birthday. Thanks to Edwin & Heidi with their 3 daughters, Joe & Irene with their 2 daughters and Urs & Joyce with their 2 daughters (… that’s 7 young women ..) for sharing my birthday with me.

I think one of the most wonderful things in the alps is the heritage. People lived here since Switzerland was founded in 1291. At the end of a day when you ski back to the village you pass alp huts and the smell of cows is like a fragant to the nose. And you always stop for a delicious coffee and maybe a home made piece of pie or eat a piece of fresh bread with a local cheese. It is the whole experience which makes a ski vacation so great.
